DavidThe reason you ask that cute tknwiy if he’s changed teams yet? is because he IS cute, he’s video-calling you with his shirt off, and he’s communicating with a gay guy. All these things are suggestive. Some of them are suggestive to our inner dirty-old-man, which would love to jump on that tknwiy’s bones and do the nasty, while other elements are suggestive OF the tknwiy’s actual interests.Our culture doesn’t teach open inclusiveness with gay people by straight twinkies like him. He should be RUNNING away from you and putting a shirt on when he’s around gay guys that’s what our sick culture teaches him. He’s not responding to you that way, hence the question arises: perhaps he’s gay and hasn’t yet discovered it or some to the realization yet? And THAT is the inner question that’s behind the outer question: have you switched teams yet? It’s not an affirmation of the thought that one chooses to be gay or straight; it’s an affirmation of the REALITY that a lot of us have faked being straight, have denied our identity for so long that we have trouble admitting what we are. We think we’re fooling others by pretending to be straight. For a tknwiy like Alex, it’s a question of him coming to the realization that he’s gay. Is he? I don’t know. But he does do things that are suggestive. And it’s those suggestive things which occasion the question not the question of him switching teams but the real question: have you come to the realization yet that you really ARE gay? And, of course, if you are can I do you???
